Miss Michigan Speaks Out About Flint Water Crisis [VIDEO]

When I looked at the news this morning I did not see who won the Miss America pageant, but I did see plenty of stories about Miss Michigan speaking out about the Flint water crisis.

If you are not familiar with how pageants work - the first thing contestants do is say who they are and a few other words. Miss Michigan, Emily Sioma, said quote 'From the state with 84% of the United States’ fresh water but none for its residents to drink, I am Miss Michigan, Emily Sioma.' As you can imagine social media lit up praising Emily for being vocal on the water crisis. Unfortunately for Emily - she was not crowned Miss America, but she is certainly a winner in our eyes.
