Watch Nine Inch Nails Perform ‘She’s Gone Away’ on ‘Twin Peaks’
Last year, we learned that Trent Reznor would be making a cameo on the Showtime reboot of David Lynch's Twin Peaks. That episode aired yesterday, and it featured Nine Inch Nails performing a song from their most recent release.
The scene took place at the Roadhouse, a local bar, where they were introduced as "The Nine Inch Nails" by the elderly, tuxedo-clad master of ceremonies. From there, they launched into "She's Gone Away," which appeared on Not the Actual Events, the EP that they released last year. Joining the band on background vocals was Mariqueen Maandig, Reznor's wife who is also in his side project, How to Destroy Angels.
Not the Actual Events arrived as 2016 came to a close, fulfilling a promise Reznor had made the year before. Shortly after its release, Reznor promised fans that there would be "two new major works" from the band this year. Earlier this month, he gave a little more information on what to expect in an e-mail to those whose vinyl copies of the EP had not yet been delivered.
"Did you know there’s a new top-secret Nine Inch Nails EP that will be released before the first shows we do this summer?" he wrote. "Did you know Not the Actual Events was the first part of a trilogy of related EPs that will be released 6-8 months apart? Now you do. More information on this shortly.”
Nine Inch Nails' first show this summer will be at the FYF Fest in Los Angeles on July 23, less than a month away.
