Ovid Teen Accidentally Shot and Killed By Brother

What a tragedy. 13-year-old Ovid Middle School student Paige McGinnis was shot and killed accidentally by her 14-year-old brother. It happened this past Saturday at their home in Ovid Township, which is north east of Lansing.

It is being reported that Paige's brother was handling a shotgun when it fired, hitting her in the head. My heart breaks for this family. I cannot even begin to imagine what they are going through. Superintendent Ryan Cunningham said,

'Paige was a delight. Just a beautiful young girl.'

The boy has been returned to the custody of his parents. The investigation will stay open until the autopsy is completed. Our thoughts and prayers are with this family.
