Even as Arrow once again revoked access to Deathstroke, fans kept hope that recent references to Batman and Wonder Woman might signal greater leniency with the major DCEU characters. Not so, apparently, as Arrow boss Marc Guggenheim once again shoots down the notion that Justice League-rs Batman or Wonder Woman might make their CW debuts.

Now that Arrow has confirmed one of its most enduring players will be back for Season 6 full-time, it’s worth wondering whether the main cast is untouchable. Every season has its deaths, but according to executive producer Marc Guggenheim, there’s at least one member of Team Arrow who gets a lifetime pass, and it isn’t Oliver Queen.

Whether or not Arrow abandons its flashback device altogether after Season 5, the upcoming episodes will inevitably return Oliver Queen to the bearded castaway we first saw in the 2012 pilot. To wit, star Stephen Amell is now teasing the return of a familiar foe, albeit with a deathly familiar stroke.
