If you are trying to stay cool this holiday weekend, read this before heading to the beach.

It's pretty early in the season but we're ready getting reports of closed beaches due to high bacteria levels. This time around it's Blue Bell Beach in Genesee that is closed until further notice.

What's said to be a "one-of-a-kind beach" has broken ground on the Detroit Riverfront and is scheduled to open in 2019.

Beachgoers formed a human chain over the weekend to help save swimmers struggling from hazardous conditions in Lake Michigan.

Yesterday was the first official day of summer and like any other Michigan summer, the list of beach closings is growing.

It's going to be hot as hell today and you'll have one less beach to cool off at. Due to some high E. Coli bacteria levels a Fenton Township beach has been closed. For me it's a bit weird to hear of something like this around this area. When I was growing up in St. Clair Shores though, Metro Beach was closed all the time due to E. Coli.

I don't mind swimming in the ocean, but if I hear someone yell "shark," my ass is running. These guys were just watching out of their window as a Hammerhead was chasing a stingray really close to these to idiots. They didn't really care until the shark was about 15 feet away from them.

Who knows what started this but that is karma at work. This young punk is yelling at all the girls on the beach and being an ass. The one old guy with them tries to calm the situation down. After the punk gets physical, a swift right knocks the dude right out.

So what do you do when you're a bunch of kids getting wasted at the beach on the fourth? Yep, you fight it out bro. This group was getting ready to fight and of course there is always one girl that will push a dude back thinking that it's going to stop everything. Once the first punch is thrown, it takes about three seconds for the first kid to get knocked out.
