New York alternative and progressive rock band Coheed and Cambria have just announced a 2013 North American headlining tour with Between the Buried and Me + Russian Circles as support.

There is plenty of excitement in the Coheed and Cambria camp over their upcoming album, 'The Afterman: Ascension,' but at least one part of their album rollout isn't going according to plan as the deluxe edition releases are being delayed.

Coheed and Cambria are keeping up their description as one of the most detail-oriented bands in rock. The group’s latest winding tale is titled ‘The Afterman: Ascension,’ and now carries an Oct. 9 release date.

Coheed and Cambria‘s next release will be a double album, with the first one due later this year. ‘The Afterman’ will feature new bassist Zach Cooper and the return of drummer Josh Eppard. Cooper, of course, replaced Michael Todd after his arrest for robbing a pharmacy of prescription drugs in 2011.

Former Coheed and Cambria bassist Michael Todd is ready to answer for his crimes, as he entered a guilty plea Monday (June 11) for robbing a Walgreens store for painkillers last July.

Coheed and Cambria are hard at work on their next album and frontman Claudio Sanchez is offering up a free download of an acoustic take on the new track 'Sentry The Defiant' -- check it out here.

Oh happy day! We are thrilled to report the news that Iron Maiden fans have been eagerly waiting for since their 2010 invasion of North America. Iron Maiden have just announced that the band will extensively tour North America in 2012 for two months from June through August with special guest Alice Cooper until July 21 and special guests Coheed and Cambria from July 21 until the end of the tour. Coheed and Cambria recently announced a mutual split with drummer Chris Pennie and wasted no time finding a replacement. Oddly enough, it's the drummer that Pennie replaced -- Josh Eppard.

Already having dropped troubled bassist Michael Todd from the lineup, Coheed and Cambria say farewell to the other half of the rhythm section as drummer Chris Pennie leaves citing "creative differences."

Two weeks ago Michael Todd of Coheed and Cambria was busted fleeing the scene of a pharmacy he allegedly robbed for Oxycontin. Coheed was forced to perform with a replacement at their opening gig for Soundgarden that night, now they've decided to replace Todd for good.
