Looks like history was made at the 40th Crim Festival of Races over the weekend. Runner Dathan Ritzenhein became the first American in more than two decades to win the 10-mile race. Unfortunately I couldn't participate this weekend which is probably a good thing for him. You're welcome Dathan.
The water crisis in Flint obviously does not attract people to the city. Lucky for us and the city of Flint, the Crim Festival of Races will still be held here and the organization is waiving the entry fee for 2000 Flint residents.
Start placing your bets now. Will this end in epic victory or massive heart attack? It's going to be a long weekend for me friends. Tomorrow morning I will be joining thousands of other runners in Downtown Flint for the Crim 10 Miler. Sunday morning, I'll get filthy at the Down & Dirty Mud Run in Detroit.
We are just over a month away from the big race my friends. I have a few more races this month as I train for my 15.6 mile Iron Warrior Dash in September. The goal; raise $1,000 for the American Heart Association.
