When I read the first rumors about Hideo Kojima leaving Konami, I, probably like many others, dismissed it as absurd. In my mind, Konami without Hideo Kojima was an impossibility. If Konami was a body, Kojima has undoubtedly been the face.

New job listings at Konami for would-be developers and visionaries to work on the next Metal Gear project echo our recent report that series creator Hideo Kojima is leaving the studio after the release of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

It's the return of the franchise that kept me on board with Playstation when it came time to upgrade to a next-gen console . Metal Gear will thankfully continue in 2011 after retiring Solid Snake  in MGS4 (one of the best games I've ever played, right next to MGS3).
