Don't answer and don't call back.

The Genesee County Health Department is issuing a warning to residents in the area about phone scams.

If there's one thing I'm sick and tired of, it's phone scammers. I feel like I'm constantly getting calls from people that I don't know and every time I send it to voicemail they leave me stupid messages about needing money right away or whatever...

I feel bad for this guy.

If you don't recognize a number - don't answer.

Scammers are using local police numbers.

Scammers are everywhere and never give. Always be sure you know what is legit and what is not. Police are warning local businesses of new scammers pretending to be Consumers Energy.

Seriously, this is getting out of control.

Well, it looks like another phone scam is going around and Genesee County Sheriff Robert Pickell says to not fall for it.

Residents in the area have been getting phone calls from what looks like a local number.

It seems like phone scams are becoming more and more of a pain in the butt lately. Recently, my phone has been ringing of the hook for prizes and mortgage loans. However, you have to be careful with them, even if you're frustrated.
