We Came as Romans Will Continue as Band, Not Replacing Kyle Pavone
We Came as Romans have announced that they will be continuing as a band without replacing late singer Kyle Pavone. Co-frontman Dave Stephens revealed the news in a video that was shared to the band's Facebook page. They will be performing as scheduled on Bullet for My Valentine's upcoming headlining tour, which begins this Thursday, Sept. 13.
We've decided that the best course of action for the band is to do the Bullet for My Valentine tour. We feel like this honors Kyle, and we can talk about his foundation, the Kyle Pavone Foundation, and carry on doing what he would've wanted us to do, and us be together on stage, playing music together with our fans. We will not be replacing Kyle. We will be continuing on [with] the five of us, honoring his life for the next few weeks while we're on tour.
Pavone died Saturday, Aug. 25. at the age of 28. The news was confirmed in a statement from the band. It was revealed by an official press statement that he died of an "accidental overdose." TMZ reports that a full toxicology report will take up to eight weeks to complete.
He joined We Came as Romans in 2008 and is featured on all five of the band's full-length albums. His voice served as a notable standout during modern metalcore's rise in the late 2000s and early 2010s. He performed various keyboard and synthesizer duties throughout Romans' catalog as well.
