Rage Against the Machine vocalist Zack de la Rocha recently came out of hiding for a furious guest verse on the track 'Close Your Eyes and Count to F---' with rap duo Run the Jewels -- check it out here.

The Chupacabra. The Lochness Monster. Bigfoot. These are all creatures believed to exist by many despite a lack of scientific evidence. Zack de la Rocha is a person that we know, for a fact, exists because we used to see him perform with Rage Against the Machine all the time. However, since the band's dissolution in 2000, de la Rocha sightings have actually been outnumbered by those of the aforementioned creatures of legend. So when he does show up -- it's kind of a big deal.

Zack apparently decided to leave witness protection for a day to join Run the Jewels -- a rap duo comprised of Killer Mike and El-P -- for the track 'Close Your Eyes and Count to F---' from their just released sophomore effort 'Run the Jewels 2.' Upon first listen, we couldn't help but think the only appearance de la Rocha would be making was the one line hook that is looped and mixed into the beat throughout the song. We were pleasantly surprised to hear an actual full verse from the reclusive Rage frontman at the end of the track.

This guest verse marks Zack's first since collaborating with Deltron 3030 in 2013 and adds another bulletpoint to his long untouched discography page. His last appearance on record prior to 2013 was his hip-hop project One Day as a Lion. After their debut EP dropped in 2008, rumors of an in-progress follow-up were confirmed by those involved with the project, but no results were ever released... maybe we'll hear them someday. Maybe Rage Against the Machine will get back together someday. When it comes to Zack de la Rocha, "maybes" are the only answers we have to offer.
