If you are not familiar, Plan B is an emergency contraceptive pill that some women can purchase without a prescription. Basically if a girl thinks she may have become pregnant due to contraceptive failure or from unprotected sex, she has up to 72 hours to take the Plan B pill to prevent pregnancy.
As of now, this pill is only available to women 17 and older without a prescription. Teva Pharmaceutical Industries wants to make the pill available to girls 16 and younger. The Food & Drug Administration could decide today if the age restriction will be lifted.
