With 19 days standing between your ears and the first album from Green Day‘s forthcoming ’¡Uno!,’ ‘¡Dos!’ and ‘¡Tre!’ trilogy, the band has debuted another track from the disc. The tune, titled ‘Let Yourself Go,’ is the third to be released from ‘¡Uno!,’ following the singles ‘Oh Love’ and ‘Kill the DJ.’
Lana Del Rey has scored yet another magazine cover, and this time around the sultry singer has stripped down to celebrate. The occasion is Del Rey’s selection as Woman of the Year by British GQ, and with that honor comes the singer completely naked on the front cover of the October issue of the magazine. LDR was on hand at the GQ Man of the Year Awards ceremony on Tuesday at London’s Royal Opera House to accept the honor, even offering a few words of thanks.
Green Day‘s Tre Cool and Mike Dirnt have offered up some details about the hospitalization of Billie Joe Armstrong that forced the band to cancel a concert Sunday (Sept. 2) in Bologna, Italy. It turns out that local reports suggesting that the frontman was suffering from gastric problems were pretty much on the money.
Muse have unleashed a monster new video for ‘Madness,’ the second single from their forthcoming ‘The 2nd Law’ album and first to get video treatment. The clip follows a statuesque femme fatale through the London Underground as riots break out around her.
Has Kurt Cobain been reincarnated in the body of a Russian subway musician? With his dark hair and brown eyes, Nikolay Petrovskiy looks little like the late Nirvana frontman, but he sings selections from the Nirvana songbook with a voice so eerily reminiscent of Kurt’s that it sounds as if he’s summoning Cobain’s spirit. Close your eyes and listen closely!
The Red Hot Chili Peppers have spent the better part of 2012 rocking arenas and stadiums as they continue to tour behind last year’s ‘I’m With You’ album, but they’ll close out the year in a much more intimate setting. As MTV.com reports, the band has lined up a New Year’s Eve gig at the Chelsea Ballroom at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
Dave Grohl told the massive crowd watching his Foo Fighters perform at the Reading festival on Sunday night (Aug. 26) in Reading, England that the concert would be the band’s last show for a long time — directly contradicting the Foo Fighters’ itinerary, which has four more U.S. festival appearances still scheduled for 2012.
Tom Waits will help Homer Simpson prepare for the end of the Earth on a future episode of ‘The Simpsons.’ The singer has been lined up as a guest voice for a forthcoming Season 24 episode that’s scheduled to air some time in December.
– NME.com users have voted Muse “the most exciting live act of all time” in a new poll that received half a million votes in the last month. Muse beat out, well, every other band that has ever performed live.
Awolnation have unleashed a video for ‘Kill Your Heroes,’ the latest single off the Los Angeles-based electronic rockers’ 2011 debut album, ‘Megalithic Symphony.’ The quirky clip, which is modeled after a ’50s children’s television program, perfectly compliments the song’s bouncy, infectious groove.
You can be forgiven for thinking that the track ‘Survival’ was selected as the debut single off Muse‘s forthcoming ‘The 2nd Law’ album. It was a common assumption. But while ‘Survival’ was in fact adopted as the official song of the 2012 Olympic Games in London, it never was actually picked as the first single — or in fact, any single — off the album. That honor, in fact, will go to the tune ‘Madness,’ which officially will hit radio Monday (Aug. 20), well ahead of the disc’s Oct. 2 release.
It was just last month that we received word that Beck would be offering up three original tunes to the soundtrack of the new Playstation 3 video game ‘Sound Shapes,’ and not long after that that we got a preview of one of the cuts, titled ‘Cities.’ Now that ‘Sound Shapes’ is actually out, we have actual game play videos featuring all three tunes in their entirety, so check them out below.
