Thedailymeal.com released a list of the best grocery stores from every state. Even though Michigan has quite a few big chains as well as mom-and-pop stores, the "best" grocery store in Michigan is not that surprising.

According to their article, Meijer is the best grocery store in Michigan. Again, that is not too surprising as the grocery store giant is headquartered in Grand Rapids. With over 250 locations across Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Wisconsin, you don't have to go too far to find one.

For the article, thedailymeal.com used criteria such as the range of brands and offerings, value, contribution to the community, and a few other factors to determine the best in each state. The website also took the size of the company as a whole into consideration as well. The bigger chains that have locations in more than one state were only used once on the list.

Since Meijer was deemed Michigan's best grocery store, that means that the massive chain could not be selected in the other states listed above. That begs the question, what are the best grocery stores in those states? Check them out below.
