Before the internet and online shopping took over the world, shopping for birthdays, holidays, and more was way different. Michiganders had to devote serious time and effort to get all of their shopping done. Everything from when to go and which route to take to make sure you could get everything.
Shopping is just not the same as it used to be here in Michigan. Many stores that were once flooded with people looking for the perfect gift simply just don't exist anymore. Below you will find 21 businesses that are no longer around that we all miss.

Not to sound too old, but I'm old enough to remember what it was like to got shopping before the internet. Sure, day-to-day shopping for necessities hasn't changed all that much, but shopping during the holidays has. Gone are the days of Black Friday shopping madness.
When I was young, elaborate plans had to be carefully constructed and executed to make sure all items were marked off the list for Christmas. Whether that was standing in line for hours before a store opened or assigning certain parts of the list to different people in your group, the battle was real.

I will always hold those memories close to my heart. As stressful as it was, it was an amazing bonding time with family.
