When Will Yuengling Beer Be Available in Michigan?
Will Yuengling beer ever be sold in Michigan?
This is a question that many people want to know the answer to. Will Yuengling ever hit the shelves in Michigan? If so, when will that happen? For those that don't know, D.G. Yuengling & Son is the oldest operating brewing company in the nation.
Headquartered currently in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, the brewery was first established in 1829 under the name of Eagle Brewery. In 1873, the founder's son became a partner in the family business and it was renamed to D.G. Yuengling & Son.
Many beer lovers in Michigan enjoy getting their hands on a case of delicious case of Yuengling Traditional Lager or Light Lager. The problem is that it is not sold in Michigan and, for the most part, you have to make a trip to Ohio to pick up the tasty beverage as up until 2020, Yuengling was only sold in 22 states. Unfortunately, Michigan was not one of those.
However, in September 2020, Yuengling announced a new partnership with Molson Coors Beverage Company to expand the company's footprint in the United States. The long-term joint partnership was set up to allow D.G. Yuengling & Son to remain a family-owned business as well.
What does that joint venture mean for Michigan? Well, we don't know yet. According to upthirst.com, Yuengling was unable to sell its products in Michigan because of its distribution capacity. With the new partnership with Molsen Coors the distribution of Yuengling will be able to expand nationwide.
Since the joint venture began in 2020, Yuengling distribution has become available in four new states, bringing the total to 26 across the country. Of course, Michigan is still not one of them. While no timeline has been given (to my knowledge anyway,) we can only hope that this delicious beer will be available in our great state soon. Once that happens, I will definitely be having a celebratory barbecue.
The waiting is killing us. Come on Yuengling, let's make this happen soon! Maybe if we make enough noise, they will bump us up the list.
