Papa Roach have dropped off the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival after only a week into the trek. The reason for their exit is the fact that singer Jacoby Shaddix has to have vocal surgery.
While the the Foo Fighters days of playing sweaty, intimate club shows may be a thing of the past, there’s nothing like a great cause to bring them back to their roots. The band announced a special show at the Fillmore in Charlotte, N.C. on Sept. 5 to benefit Rock the Vote, helping to register young Americans to vote in the upcoming elections.
When conditions deteriorate at shows, sometimes it can be a bit of a free-for-all, and that’s what happened in Little Rock, Ark., this past Saturday (Aug. 18) at Edgefest VIII, when several fans took advantage of the rain-soaked ground from earlier in the day and started tossing mud clumps at the acts playing onstage.
As if it weren’t cool enough that the “Metal Masters” were preparing to stage their fourth performance, now the players from the event will get even closer to the public with a signing at Guitar Center in Union Square in New York.
Lamb of God singer Randy Blythe is thrilled to be back onstage – so thrilled that he actually got in more stage time than what his band was allotted over the weekend. The vocalist took the opportunity to join Prong onstage during their set at Saturday’s Knotfest show in Somerset, Wis.

August 16, 2012 It's no secret that Royal Bliss is a favorite amongst the Banana Crew. All the guys are down to Earth and a blast to not only see, but party with as well. Even though they still had to play a full set on the Deja Vu stage later that day, they still took time out to play five songs in the acoustic lounge -- tossing in some fan favorites that weren't going to make their set later. Theory of a Deadman are in the midst of wrapping up their summer touring, but there’s still plenty of roads left to be traveled. The rockers are enjoying a solid run in support of ‘The Truth Is …’ album and show no signs of slowing down anytime soon, booking a new batch of dates that will carry them into mid-November.
