DARPA Robot That Looks Like ‘Metal Gear Gekko’ Can Climb Stairs [VIDEO]

A new robot prototype, that looks eerily like the "Gekko" from 'Metal Gear Solid 4,' has been designed to easily navigate stairs -- watch it happen in this video that proves we're about 10 years away from Judgment Day.

Everyday it seems like we get closer and closer to the events of films like 'The Terminator' and 'The Matrix.' Technology already does everything for us and it's only a matter of time before these robo-bastards get tired of carrying the dead weight. Now DARPA (Defense Advance Research Projects Agency) has posted a video of some prototypes that can walk on a treadmill, do push ups and even climb stairs.

Usually I would think this is pretty badass, but the stair climbing robot is a machine gun and rocket launcher away from being what fans of the 'Metal Gear Solid' video game franchise know as a "Gekko" -- an unmanned bio-mechanical war robot that you can see below.

Hopefully these new DARPA robots eat s--t like the ED-209 when they attempt to walk down a flight of stairs or we're all screwed.
