Lzzy Hale of Halestorm revealed recently that her and some other famous ladies of rock have often spoke of joining forces to become a modern day version of The Runaways.

The anticipation is high for the follow-up album to Halestorm's breakout self-titled debut record -- from both the band and their fans. Despite her excitement about the new material, Halestorm's vocalist Lzzy Hale told The Saginaw News that she has another dream project she would like to get off of the ground someday. She revealed that herself, bassist Emma Anzai of Sick Puppies, guitarist/vocalist Orianthi (known for her work with Michael Jackson), along with Jen Ledger and Korey Kooper of Skillet have all been plotting a supergroup of sorts:

"It’s funny, we secretly talk about it when we hang out. But the truth is that here we are, women in rock, and most of our influences come from our parents’ generation. There are so many of us out there, talented women making it in the business. We’re breaking the rules in a business that hasn’t had any real rules before. You can put a short skirt on anybody and go for cute, but this is a nice, refreshing trend. They inspire me to do better."

Whether or not the supergroup will actually come to be remains to be seen, but we will next hear from Lzzy and Halestorm on their untitled sophomore record which is expected in early 2012.
