Years ago the last remaining Hamady stores in the Flint area closed and honestly I don't think anyone thought the grocery store chain would ever return to the area.

Yesterday Hamady Complete Food Centers put up a new sign as they prepare to open the new location at Pierson and Clio Roads in Flint.

According to NBC25, The son of the previous owner says he's investing more than $1 million to bring new jobs and a full-service grocery store to Flint's north side.

At one point there were 37 stores in Michigan which employed around 1,3000 people.
