Jane’s Addiction fans, keep in mind that good things come to those who wait. The Perry Farrell-fronted alternative rock band have announced they will release their new album, ‘The Great Escape Artist,’ one week later than expected: Oct. 4 instead of Sept. 27.

Jane’s addiction worked with producer Rich Costey (Muse, Franz Ferdinand) and TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek on ‘The Great Escape Artist.’ Sitek is writing, programming and playing bass guitar on the release.

Fans who are hoping to check out the band live are in luck, too, as Ferrell, guitarist Dave Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins and touring bass player Chris Chaney plan to tour the rest of 2011.

Jane’s Addiction have also joined forces with Indaba Music for a remix contest with their single, ‘Irresistible Force.’ As for the prizes, the winner picks up $1,000 cash, a signed CD and poster of ‘The Great Escape Artist’ plus the winner’s remix will be included on an official Jane's Addiction digital release by EMI.  For more information and to submit a remix, visit the Indaba Music website. The contest ends Thursday (Aug. 25), though, so you’d better rush. Good luck!
