Justin Verlander’s ‘Fastball Flakes’ Bring the Heat to Breakfast

Not only is Justin Verlander the best pitcher in baseball, he's also joined the ranks of Tony the Tiger, the cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs bird, and that leprechaun  from the Lucky Charms box.  Check out JV's new cereal, Fastball Flakes.

Athletes on cereal boxes are nothing new, but usually, athletes just pose for a box of Wheaties, they don't get their own cereal .  Detroit Tigers star pitcher and defending Cy Young champion, Justin Verlander, is an exception to the rule, as his cereal, Fastball Flakes was introduced this February.

Fastball Flakes have been a huge hit for Meijer, the only chain store selling the cereal.  They've pushed more than 110,000 boxes of the stuff, with all proceeds going to the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center in Detroit and the VA Healthcare System in Ann Arbor.

Fastball Flakes are being sold in Detroit, Lansing, Kalamazoo, and Grand Rapids area Meijers.  No word on if Flint area stores will be picking up the cereal, but you can buy it directly from it's producer, PBLSports.com.
