Sounds like a fun segment on a TV show but it's actually a pretty frequent occurrence when you're a member of Guns N' Roses. Newbie to the band, guitarist DJ Ashba talked about an incident where he and Axl "beat the s#!t" out of an unruly fan.

Being the new guy in GN'R has gotta be pretty intimidating, especially when you hear stories about Axl's  violent outbursts. DJ Ashba has been very forthcoming in interviews about behind the scenes Guns' activity, more so than most who came before him. He said earlier that GN'R had about three albums worth of music demoed and now he tells Guitar International about a fight the band had with a fan:

"Me and Axl kicked the living shit out of this dude, He snuck into this private aftershow party that was just held for the band and the crew. He was a drunk obnoxious big dude – he walks in and he's telling everyone he's our tour manager. We're like, 'What the f**k?' He actually punched one of our tour managers. I saw it, so I grabbed the guy by his throat and slammed him up against the wall and I said, 'You need to leave now.' I walked him over to the door, but he turned round and punched me in the face. I just started unloading on him. Axl saw him hit me and flipped, and jumped in. We’re stomping this guy to a pulp – but it was all in good fun.

What’s funny about it is, about three hours later we get done partying, and the guy’s still sitting in the lobby. We walk up and he apologizes for being a douchebag, then he asks if he can get pictures and autographs with us. So we’re taking pictures with this bloody mess of a guy we literally kicked the shit out of. It was all good – we laughed about it in the end and he even laughed. He was like: 'Yeah, it was my fault, I was being a total dick.' It was just a funny moment.”

Dude may have got his ass handed to him, but he still has a pretty great story with a picture to back it up. By the way if you haven't heard Chinese Democracy, you can pick it up at Best Buy for $1.99 (I did yesterday). Apparently they ordered way too many when the album came out and are trying to unload them now by using extremely low prices. It appears to be working as the disc re-entered the Billboard charts shortly after the price drop.
