Pearl Jam crooner Eddie Vedder visited CBS' ‘Late Show with David Letterman’ last night (6/20) to give a live performance of ‘Without You,’ a song from his new solo album ‘Ukulele Songs.’ Vedder thrummed a teeny uke with a sticker reading "CLARENCE," paying homage to E Street Band saxophonist Clarence Clemons. Clemons passed away last Saturday after suffering a stroke at his Florida home.

Letterman ate it up, informing the late-night show’s audience that Vedder “single handedly made playing the ukulele cool.”

Vedder and his main gig, Pearl Jam, celebrate their 20th anniversary this year with their own music festival, PJ20, in East Troy, Wis. Sept. 3 and 4. The lineup features Queens of the Stone Age, the Strokes, Mudhoney and more.
