If you're a pickle lover like me, then you're going to love this place. Or, if you're a person on a diet—which I should be, that makes this restaurant a great option for you, too.

Their motto is 'drop the bread and pick up a pickle instead,' perfect for a restaurant that makes sandwiches in between halves of kosher dill pickles.

What's The Dill is located in Detroit and is fairly new. It opened in November of 2022 and is family-owned and operated, according to their website.

What The Dill has over 10 signature stuffed pickle sandwiches, and a BYO option. Based on a few Yelp, Google, and Facebook reviews, one of their most popular sandwiches seems to be named after my least favorite road in the entire state— The Lodge.

What's The Dill's 'Lodge Dill Wit it Sandwich' features turkey, ham, bacon, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, cheese, Italian dressing, mayo, and their signature seasoning all wedged between, of course, a big dill pickle.

Pickles aren't your thing? No worries! They also make stuffed deviled eggs and cucumber rolls.

The restaurant is proudly able to serve nearly every specialty diet known to man: vegan, gluten free, keto, pescetarian, halal, the list goes on.

One thing that is important to note is that there is no dining in at What's The Dill. It is a carryout counter, but they also do DoorDash orders for those in a rush.

Here's a recent review from a What's The Dill-goer on Yelp:

This is my current favorite lunch. It's a simple concept...sandwiches smooshed between pickle halves instead of bread...but if you're gluten free like me...or keto or low carb...it's really nice to have a fast and affordable carryout spot that feels simple and easy because it's handheld and healthier version of fast food! Swear I get so sick of salads

All I know is listed on their menu they've got something called a 'ranch pickle' listed, which was enough to pique my interest. I'll be making a visit this weekend.
