Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor says that the band's next project is not only starting to look like a concept album, but that it may be a double album as well. A concept double album?

Stone Sour looks to join the ranks of bands like Smashing Pumpkins and Coheed and Cambria as they gear up to release a two-disc concept album. In a recent interview Corey Taylor told Artisan News about Stone Sour's upcoming record:

"The thing I can say is that it's like little bits and pieces of the first three albums, but it's very dark. I've got a story...it's almost a concept album that I'm writing right now -- and it might turn into a double album. There's a lot of really good material that we're all kinda coming up with and I'm really excited to get in to the studio and see what happens."

The follow-up to 2009's 'Audio Secrecy' is expected in 2012 and a Stone Sour live DVD packaged with an EP of covers is expected to be released before Christmas this year. The band is also set to perform at Rock in Rio on September 24th -- where Mike Portnoy will fill-in on drums for Roy Mayorga.
