Earlier this year, guitarist Jim Root sat out Stone Sour's tour with the reason given that he was concentrating his efforts on writing music for Slipknot's next album. However, now the band has announced that it has parted ways with Root.

Stone Sour are currently on the road with Pop Evil and from what I hear it's a sold out show just about every night. Stone Sour does something at the end of their set called " The cover song of the night" at this particular show in Cleveland, they rocked a version 'Love Gun' by Kiss.

Slipknot / Stone Sour vocalist Corey Taylor is expanding his artistic horizons. In addition to being a musician and author, he's adding acting to his repertoire. He's set to appear in the feature film 'Fear Clinic.'

Jim Root fans, we've got some bad news and some amazing news. Of course, we'll start with the bad news. Stone Sour have announced that Root will not be touring with the band on their upcoming winter tour. However, Root's absence is for good reason, as he's chosen to spend the time writing with Slipknot for the band's next album!

Stone Sour's Corey Taylor continues to roll out his 'House of Gold & Bones' vision. After issuing the 'House of Gold & Bones' comics earlier this year, the collection will soon be made available on paperback.
