Last we reported, The Offspring were hoping to finish the follow-up to their 2008 record 'Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace' before year's end. It sounds like they're on track to meet that goal, but we probably won't hear it until 2012.

The Offspring have been quietly plugging away at new material for quite some time now. During a recent podcast, The band's elder statesmen said that they hoped it would be finished this year. Towards the end of the 16-date overseas tour The Offspring just completed, guitarist Noodles was asked about the progress of that record. According to Dying Scene, he shared a different outlook on the long-awaited album this time around:

"You know we're only out for a month and we've been working really hard on the record. We're shooting for really next year... and we should have it done by the end of this year you know, and then really next year we'll start moving on working on the artwork and all that..."

Here is a new song the band has been performing that Noodles has said is not named 'November Song' as previously believed. One thing is for sure, the track also possibly titled 'You Will Find a Way' totally doesn't sound like the Foo Fighters song 'Times Like These'.
