What Michigan City Had a Ban on Alcohol Until 2007?
Hudsonville, Michigan which is located in Ottawa County, had a ban on alcohol sales until November 6, 2007. It was the last dry city in Michigan.
Michigan allows any city, village, or township in which there are no retail liquor licenses to prohibit the retail sale of alcoholic liquor within its borders by passage of an ordinance.
Can You Walk Around in Public With Alcohol in Michigan?
Simply put, no. According to American Legal Publishing, you are not allowed to transport or possess any alcoholic liquor in a container that is open, uncapped, or upon which the seal is broken, on the public streets, sidewalks, or rights-of-ways of the city.
Alcohol consumption is also prohibited in most Michigan state parks.
