It's been a really long time since I've taken an Uber but then again, it's been a really long time since I've been out and needed an Uber. At least I know that the next time I do, I'll feel a lot safe knowing that their drivers will be be required to wear a mask.

According to WXYZ, the company will roll out the new policy in the coming weeks in specific markets, which includes the United States.

Not only will drivers be required to wear a mask but riders will too. Both will be required to wear a mask or some sort of face-covering while inside the vehicle.

I'm sure you wondering the same thing as me. How will Uber even know if their drivers are wearing the masks that will be provided to them? Well, apparently they are developing technology that would detect drivers' usage of face coverings.

It's not all good news in the world of Uber right now though. According to CNBC,  the company will lay off 3,700 employees and that CEO Dara Khosrowshahi will forgo his base salary for the rest of the year.
