This is one of the most heartbreaking stories I've heard all week (and I've heard a lot of em). It's also one of the worst cases of irresponsibility I've ever seen as well.

Earlier this week, Detroit resident, Chinasia Elliza-Yvonna Williams shot and killed her 14-year-old brother, Chance Williams.

According to WDIV, on Tuesday at 11:30 p.m. at a home in the 12800 block of Mettetal Street in Detroit, the suspect was in a room with her brother and some friends. She allegedly had a handgun and removed the magazine from the weapon, pointed it at her brother and pulled the trigger.

From what I understand there was a bullet still in the chamber which ended up striking the boy and killing him.

The 22-year-old is facing charges of involuntary manslaughter, manslaughter and death by a weapon aimed with intent but without malice.

There are so many questions lingering around about this story. Was it her gun? Why would she do something like this(especially at her age)? Did she know there was still a bullet in the chamber? Was she drinking or on drugs? It's just so hard to comprehend.

This story hits home for me because I have a 14-year-old son who has a sister that's almost the same age as Williams. I couldn't help but put myself in one of those "what if" situations in my head. You do everything in your power to protect your children but then out of nowhere a freak irresponsible accident like this can happen. Thankfully, my kid and his sister have the brains not to put themselves in a situation like this.
