Actor Sean Astin Visits Flint to Speak About Mental Health Awareness [VIDEO]

We all know him best as Samwise from Lord of The Rings and Mikey from The Goonies but actor Sean Astin didn't come to Flint to talk about his accomplishments. He came to  speak about mental health awareness and other issues.

Thursday night he spoke to Mott Health Sciences students during a lecture series, that was also open to the public. I really wish I had known about this in advance, I think it would have been interesting to see what all he had to say. Astin almost didn't make the event because his mother Patty Duke, who suffered from bipolar disorder passed away just last Tuesday.
