After Spending 14 Years in Prison, Michigan Man Passes Bar Exam [VIDEO]
Pete Martel is a good friend of mine that made some bad decisions growing up. In fact, one of those decisions landed him with a prison sentence of 14 years.
Back in 94, Pete got locked up for armed robbery, shooting at police and trying to escape from prison. He was supposed to only serve five years but his attempted escape added, even more years to his sentence, mainly in solitary confinement.
I visited Pete when he was first put in jail and later while he was in prison. I would never have thought in a million years that I'd be writing about the fact that he is now a mitigation specialist at SADO -- and he just passed the bar.
Pete is a great guy and I'm proud to call him a friend of almost 30 years. He is living proof that people can change and turn their lives around in the most positive way possible.
