Alien Ant Farm are no doubt best known for their smash cover of Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal,” which came out in the early ‘00s. But that’s not where their story ends.

Since then, the guys have released two LPs, 2003’s ‘Truant’ and 2006’s ‘Up in the Attic,’ and a live album, ‘Alien Ant Farm: Live in Germany.’ Most recently, they inked with Field House Management, the same home as 12 Stones and Egypt Central.

In other words, Alien Ant Farm haven’t been complacent, and the Riverside, Calif., band are hoping to rock for years to come.

Right now, Alien Ant Farm are out on the ANTicipation Tour (ANT - Get it?), and they’re playing a off-date Saturday at the 2011 Dirt Fest. Do they still mix metal and rapping with wearing Adidas gear and slinging dreadlocks? We shall see.

Show details: Dirt Fest 2011, Saturday, Aug. 13, 12 p.m. at the Birch Run Expo Center, 11600 North Beyer Road, Birch Run. Tickets $20 in advance; $29 day of show. Find ticket information on Dirt Fest’s official website.
