"American Psycho" is easily one of my favorite movies and books, and now it might be one of my favorite musicals.  Check out the details on the stage adaptation of the story of everyone's favorite serial killer yuppy.

If you've never seen "American Psycho" you're missing out.  The movie, based on the Bret Easton Ellis novel of the same name, follows the story of Patrick Bateman(played by Christian Bale), a young, successful Wall Street banker, and his descent into insanity.  Bateman goes on a murdering spree, killing coworkers, hookers, and random people, most famously, burying an ax in the head of Jared Leto's character.

Now the classic is being adapted to a musical, according to NME.com.  The Headlong Theater Company reports that the production has been in the works for years, although no casting decisions have been made.  Robert Aguirre-Sacasa, the man behind the Spiderman Broadway show is working on the script, and 90's pop douchebag Duncan Sheik is handling the music.

I'm not a huge musical guy, but I would watch this for sure.  "American Psycho" is an awesome story and I'm curious to see how they'll bring the story of Patrick Bateman to real life.
