‘Ash Vs. Evil Dead’ Throws a Chainsaw Kegger in First Season 2 Photo
The first season of Starz’s Ash Vs. Evil Dead didn’t end with our beloved aging Lothario stockboy conquering his titular enemy (it’d be a short show if he did), instead taking an unexpected trip down south. Not Hell, but close! See Ash party chainsaw-style across Florida in our first official photo from Season 2!
TVInsider caught the first official photo of the fall-premiering 2016 season, which follows - SPOILER ALERT - Ash’s relocation to Jacksonville, Florida, having abdicated the Necronomicon to Ruby (Lucy Lawless) in exchange for his friends’ lives. Of course, chainsaw keggers can only last so long, as executive producer Craig DiGregorio puts it:
When you have a chain-saw hand, this is how you tap a keg. Unfortunately for Ash, the party is cut short when he must return home to continue the fight against evil.
Elsewhere of Ash Vs. Evil Dead Season 2, we know that Sam Raimi‘s brother Ted will appear in the role of Ash’s childhood best friend Chet Kaminski, independent of the prior three appearances in other Evil Dead movies. Lee Majors, meanwhile, will play the unexpected role of Brock Williams, Ash’s father.
Spoilers beware, so reads the first Season 2 synopsis for the 2016 season:
The second season of the STARZ Original series “Ash vs Evil Dead” will be 10 half-hour episodes. The cast is led by Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead, “Burn Notice”) in the role of Ash Williams; Lucy Lawless (“Salem,” “Spartacus”) as Ruby, who now possesses the powerful Necronomicon; Ray Santiago (“Touch,” Meet the Fockers) as Pablo Simon Bolivar, Ash’s loyal sidekick dealing with the trauma he suffered in the cabin; and Dana DeLorenzo (A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas) as Kelly Maxwell, who, grief-stricken after the death of her parents, plots revenge against The Evil Dead.
Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert will of course executive produce once again, presumably in mind for another Halloween-adjacent premiere this fall.
It could be some time yet before we get another taste of Season 2, but will Ash Vs. Evil Dead Season 2 live up to the first?
