Barack Obama Gets Coveted Endorsement From Jeff Bridges as ‘The Dude’
Although he says “Everyone’s got their opinion, man,” Jeff Bridges is pretty quick to back that up with “Obama’s the man” in this interview with CNN. Bridges will be performing at the Democratic National Convention to try to gain support for his efforts to end childhood hunger in America. But what kind of news anchor would somebody be if they didn’t ask him to impersonate his character from ‘The Big Lebowski’ and talk a little bit about politics?
There isn’t much of the Dude in this interview — it’s mostly Bridges talking earnestly about his campaign to end hunger. But when he does do the Dude, he makes it count, offering a glowing endorsement of President Obama that Mitt Romney would probably be really jealous of if he had every seen ‘The Big Lebowski.’
Bridges also shares his thoughts on Clint Eastwood’s speech at last week’s Republican National Convention (he doesn’t have any), although he did say he was sort of envisioning President Obama doing a rebuttal with a hand-operated Clint Eastwood puppet. Of course he was imagining that. Of course he was.
