America’s Best Grocery Store: Sorry, Michigan, You’ll Never See It
There’s nothing worse than realizing you're missing out on something considered the best—and that you'll never get to experience it.
Well, guess what, Michiganders? That’s exactly how you’ll feel when you hear about a grocery store chain so amazing, that it’s ranked the best in the United States—and there isn’t a single one in Michigan.
It’s kind of wild to think that there’s a grocery store chain with over 400 locations, but not one is in the state of Michigan. There isn’t even one remotely close to us. If you want the best, you’ll have to travel to Texas to get it.
H-E-B, the grocery store Texans swear by, has earned the title of America’s best—but it’s a long haul for Michiganders to experience it firsthand. We’re talking a 1,100-mile drive from Detroit to Dallas, just to step foot in one of their stores.
The Best Grocery Store in America
According to Southern Living, H-E-B was named the top grocery store in the U.S. by dunnhumby’s Annual Retailer Preference Index (RPI). This survey surveyed over 11,000 shoppers and rated 72 of the country’s biggest grocery chains.
H-E-B beat out all the big-name chains, including Aldi and Costco, claiming the top spot for the third year in a row. Not bad for a grocery store chain that I’ve never heard of. That’s probably because you’ll only find locations mainly in Texas, with a few in Mexico.
If the Texas retailer ever decides to move north, Michigan will unlikely be on the list anytime soon. With the closest H-E-B being over 1,100 miles away in Texas, Michiganders will just have to keep wishing they could experience it.
What makes H-E-B the best? We’ll never know—it’s a Texas thing
The grocery store may be considered the best, but it’s not the most popular grocery store in America. However, it did make the list below.
