Michigan Woman Converts Camper Into Upscale Full Service Mobile Bar
We've all had to make changes and adapt to the way we as a society consume since the beginning of the pandemic, and Kristine Mannino from Rochester has done just that, converting a camper turned upscale full-service mobile bar. Byrdie Bar has apparently serviced parties and events all over the United States, as Kristine expressed in a post she made to a hometown group on Facebook:
Whether you're planning your wedding, graduation, corporate event, birthday, or anything in between - we're the bartenders you've been looking for! Here at Byrdie Bar, we believe a good bar is the gathering point at any event, and it goes beyond the booze. In fact it’s the number one most visited spot at your party and we can't wait to mingle with your guests.
I reached out to Kristine to ask her how she started the project up :
Byrdie was basically the brain child of Covid. I’ve been bartending for over a decade now (mostly in New York) but moved back to Michigan in 2019. I was bartending downtown in Detroit and when Covid hit and we got laid off, I was searching for things to do with all of my time off. I actually started looking at van conversions to rent to travel around the states while everything was shut down, and went out to Colorado to visit a friend.
That's when she came up with the idea of starting her own mobile bar after a friend suggested it and researching their popularity across multiple countries:
I basically drew up my perfect little bar on wheels and had a company build Byrdie out. Our season is kicking off this weekend with a birthday and our first wedding is in a couple weeks, so we’re super excited to get going.
