Cage the Elephant’s ‘Tell Me I’m Pretty’ Wins Best Rock Album at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards
And here's a Grammy first. Cage the Elephant won the Best Rock Album category at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards for their album Tell Me I'm Pretty.
The stacked category also included fellow nominees Blink-182 (California), Gojira (Magma), Panic at the Disco (Death of a Bachelor) and Weezer (Weezer).
"I'm just like Chance [the Rapper], I'm shaking right now," said guitarist Brad Shultz, before thanking the band's family, God and the many people in the industry who have helped them throughout the years. Singer Matt Shultz, in a humorous moment, also thanked his stylish shoes, before Brad Shultz went back and gave props to Chance the Rapper again, calling him "one of the realest people in the music business." Watch their acceptance speech and a bit of their red carpet interview below.
As stated, this is the band's first Grammy win in the Best Rock Album category and their first Grammy win overall. They were previously nominated for Best Alternative Music Album for Melophobia at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards. Tell Me I'm Pretty is the band's fourth studio album.
Congrats again to Cage the Elephant, and stay tuned as we'll keep you up to date on all of the hard rock and metal related Grammy wins and performances right here at Loudwire.
