Car Crashes Into Livonia Home, Lands Inches From Man Sleeping on Couch
A Livonia man is counting his blessings after a narrow escape early this morning.
A car crashed through the front of his home, landing just inches from where he was sleeping.
What Are the Details?
Cheryl Facione had gone to bed upstairs in the home but tells WDIV that her husband Tony had fallen asleep on the couch.
"I was upstairs and because of the impact, blew the closet door and that's where the access is to the attic, and I had insulation on me and on the nightstand."
The vehicle not only crashed through the front of the home, but it went all the way in. A neighbor provided a picture (included in the video below) that shows the front of the vehicle at the rear of the home.
Ironically, the driver missed the lawn. He was going so fast that he hit the curb and then was airborne as he hit the home.
"He was right there," Cheryl continued, speaking about her husband Tony. "It missed him by inches, truly. We just praise God that he's OK, I'm OK."
What Caused the Accident?
As of this writing, the vehicle has yet to be extracted from the home. It has yet to be determined if the driver of the vehicle was suffering from a medical condition or had been under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The driver was taken to a nearby hospital and is said to be in serious condition. The homeowners are uninjured but still somewhat shaken up.
