Counterfeit Cash Printing Operation Found Inside Michigan Home
This year alone, it feels like we’ve heard way too many stories about counterfeit cash popping up all over Michigan. Fake bills showing up at gas stations, restaurants, and small businesses. And now we know why.
Why Fake $100 Bills Are Showing Up Across Michigan
Police say three men were allegedly printing fake money out of a Detroit home, and it wasn’t some small-time operation either. Investigators believe the counterfeit $100 bills were passed at nearly 50 businesses across Southeast Michigan.
According to Fox 2 Detroit, the investigation started back in November after Canton police noticed a spike in fake $100 bills turning up at several local businesses.

That’s when Canton police teamed up with Plymouth Township, Northville Township, and the U.S. Secret Service to track the fake bills. Their investigation led them to a house in Detroit.
Last week, officers raided the home and found a full-blown counterfeit operation. Printers, chemicals, tools, and ink. The whole nine yards.
Not surprisingly, police also say they found stolen firearms inside the home.
Three men were arrested during the raid. Police say it was 26-year-old Darrion Daniels, 24-year-old Darrien Daniels, and 25-year-old Renard Scales.

All three are now facing charges for having counterfeit cash and the equipment used to make it. And because this situation wasn’t already bad enough, Darrion and Darrien are also looking at weapons charges.
For now, they’ve all been released on $10,000 personal recognizance bonds and are scheduled to be back in court on December 30.
