Well, well, well—it's about time! Back in April, two very popular restaurants in Genesee County abruptly closed without warning. We're excited to announce that both have officially reopened.

Over the years, we've seen many businesses open and close, but rarely do we see one close and then reopen months later.

In April, Detroit Wing Company locations in Grand Blanc, Davison, and Oxford closed their doors without notice. Employees walked into work only to find they no longer had jobs. It was the independent franchise operator that closed all three locations. While the company couldn’t comment on the specifics of the situation, they did express hope for a quick reopening.

It's official that Detroit Wing Company in Davison and Grand Blanc are open again. However, the Oxford location is still temporarily closed.

While many residents are excited about Detroit Wing Company reopening, some of their former employees aren't as happy about it. For whatever reason, some were under the impression they would get a phone call when the location was going to reopen. Apparently, that wasn't the case, according to one former employee who posted on the Grand Blanc Residents Uncensored Facebook page.

Facebook User:

I worked for Detroit Wing Company in Grand Blanc & Davison as a cashier, cook, and dishwasher from 4/2023 to 4/2024. When the franchisee went under corporate promised our jobs back. Not a single previous employee was contacted. Most of the employees had been there since opening and still weren’t contacted. But congratulations on reopening!

Hopefully, those employees who are still looking for work will get a phone call. Don't rule it out just yet—keep in mind, they just did a soft opening over the weekend.

At the end of the day, we’re all just excited that Detroit Wing Company is coming back to the area.
