Detroit’s Mac Saturn Cancel Tour Amidst Ex-Keyboard Player’s Child Porn Arrest
Mac Saturn out of Detroit, Michigan has canceled the band's current tour after the FBI arrested their now ex-keyboard player on child pornography charges.
According to the Metro Times, Evan Mercer was arrested on Friday, January, 26th, 2024, before the band was set to play their album release party at The Fillmore in Detroit.
The band did release a statement on the same day of the arrest, that stated Mercer had been fired from Mac Saturn.
The show did go on, but now the band has decided to cancel the rest of the 'Hard To Sell' Tour.
Since the announcement, Mac Saturn has deleted and or temporarily deleted their Facebook page. However, the band does still have an active Instagram page, and released the following statement,
Mercer is facing multiple allegations, including the following,
- Masturbating with a naked prepubescent girl approximately 7-9 years old, during online video chats.
- Masturbating with two teen boys, ages 14 and 15, during online video chats.
GazzetteXtra is reporting that Evan Mercer, 30, was refused bond and remains behind bars in the Sanilac County Jail.
This whole case was brought to light after an unidentified ex-girlfriend of Mercer saw photos of him in lewd acts and notified the Ferndale Police.
