Detroit’s White Boy Rick To Give First Interview In Front Of Live Audience
Detroit's Richard Wershe Jr., also known as White Boy Rick, is set to give his first interview in front of a live audience.
You may or may not know that White Boy Rick was arrested for cocaine possession in 1987. He became the longest-serving non-violent juvenile offender in Michigan history after doing 32 years in prison, 27 of those years related to his drug arrest at 17 years old. Wershe Jr. was released in July 2020.
Since that time Wershe Jr. has done countless interviews, but never in front of a live audience - until now. According to the Metro Times, White Boy Rick will be interviewed by Charlie LeDuff, a Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter.
The interview will take place Saturday, March 18th at the Andiamo Celebrity Showroom in Warren, Michigan. The interview will begin at 8:00 PM. Tickets go on sale tomorrow, Wednesday, January 18th at 10:00 AM. Ticket prices range from $100 to $35, and can be purchased here.
Although Charlie LeDuff will be conducting the majority of the interview, audience members will be able to ask questions too. A meet-and-greet package is also available for guests purchasing a $100 ticket.
A movie about his life titled 'White Boy Rick' was released in 2018. You can check out the movie trailer below as well as a video of Wershe Jr. returning to Detroit's east side in 2021.
