Dirt Fest 2014 rocked the Birch Run Expo Center last Saturday (Aug. 9), bringing thousands of attendees from all over the country to Michigan to enjoy a full day of hard rock and metal talent. I spent much of the day introing bands on the National Rock Review stage along with friend and co-worker Andrea Love from Banana 101.5.

Boston-based metaller Killswitch Engage headlined, bringing cuts off their 2013 release, "Disarm the Decent," and the rest of their catalog. Other national performers included Powerman 5000, hed (p.e.), Sid Wilson of Slipknot, Nonpoint, Chimaira, Gemini Syndrome, Smile Empty Soul, Like a Storm, Nothing More, Framing Hanley and many more.

Michigan peeps included Battlecross (Detroit), Critical Bill (Detroit), It Lies Within (Flint), Sins in Stereo (Bay City/Saginaw), DeverauX (Lansing), Know Lyfe (Lansing), Ana Kills (Flint), Martyr for Madison (Muskegon/Grand Rapids), Dead Sky (Detroit), Hell Rides North (Detroit), 1876 (Flint), Gift Giver (Ann Arbor), Bulletproof Snow (Brighton), Through the Ashes (Kalamazoo) and more.

Check out some of the photos I took from the day right here!
