Dog Found Dead Outside Genesee County Humane Society

Employees of the Humane Society of Genesee County were shocked and shaken when they arrived at work this past Monday morning to find a dog hanging from a gazebo outside of the animal shelter.

Reports indicate someone tied the pit-mix dog to the gazebo on Sunday night. The director of the Humane Society of Genesee County,  Ruth Wells-Cantor told WNEM that the dog was left chained and wearing a choke collar. I certainly doubt and hope it was not the intention of whoever left the dog - for it to die. Unfortunately, that is what happened. The Burton Police Department is investigating.
