It Looks Like Eddie Bauer Is Closing All Michigan Stores

I can’t tell you the last time I stepped foot in an Eddie Bauer store. I know. I’m part of the problem.

What’s Happening With Eddie Bauer Stores?

The problem being, it now looks like Eddie Bauer is shutting down its physical stores across the U.S. and Canada. The brand isn’t disappearing, just the stores. This is one of those things we keep seeing over and over again.

According to MLive, people around the country are already seeing stores close with little or no warning. Some have shown up thinking a location was still open, only to find the doors locked. That’s never a good sign.

Then there’s the website. No store locator anymore, and returns are online only now. That’s usually what happens when a company is getting ready for a major change.

Earlier this year, Eddie Bauer’s parent company made it pretty clear the future is online and wholesale. The brand sticks around. The stores don’t.

For Michigan shoppers, this one is going to hurt a bit. Eddie Bauer has been a go-to for winter jackets, flannels, and cold-weather gear for decades. In fact, Eddie Bauer has been around for 106 years.

Apparently, that still wasn’t enough.

At least two of these locations are already reported closed, but the status of individual stores appears to be changing quickly.

If the reports hold true, all of these locations will be disappearing soon.
