A condemned trailer park in Flint Township is set to be demolished.

Mid-Michigan Now reports the demolition will happen on Monday, October 21st, 2024. According to ABC 12, people (including squatters), still live in the park.

What Flint Township trailer park is being demolished?

Myrtle Grove Mobile Home Park, located at 3073 West Dayton Street.

Genesee County Circuit Court Judge B. Chris Christenson deemed the park unfit for living.

However, as you will see and hear in the video below, park resident William Gibson, claims his trailer was liveable. Gibson received an evacuation notice, only to find out squatters have since taken over his trailer.

Although Mr. Miller claims his mobile home was liveable, that does not seem to be the consensus.

What will happen to residents of Myrtle Grove who have nowhere to go?

According to Supervisor Karyn Miller, Flint Township is working with several charities to find shelter for people. We certainly wish anyone involved the best.

Shady Acres Trailer Park, Flint, Michigan—Photos from around 2016. The park was established back in 1982 but was abandoned in 2015 when the owner disappeared, leaving behind $120,000 in unpaid water and sewer bills. With no heat or utilities, the residents were left in a tough spot, and the park never recovered. Shady Acres was demolished in 2019.
