For those of you with loved ones in Frankenmuth, you can now ask for assistance in checking up on them during the coronavirus outbreak.

As we all try to keep our families and loved ones safe, it may be tough to check up on some people. With social distancing and self-quarantining, many are stuck at home, so the Frankenmuth Police Department has stepped up to help.

With their new assistance program, which is geared toward the elderly in the area, all you have to do is call to sign-up and they will take it from there. The program, which is part of the department's COVID-19 task force, is comprised of government and church members in the community. The police department calls the person at risk to see if they need any assistance and help arrange it if they do. Whether it be doctors' visits or groceries, the program will help these elderly people get the assistance they need.

If you would like to sign up for the program, call 989-652-8371 or visit their Facebook page.
